Correction of large angle esotropia is a challenging job. The globe can be fixed to the orbital wall with a non absorbable suture material.
This results in restoration of binocular single vision and well aligned eyes in primary position but with loss of horizontal gaze in involved eye.

Sub-Tenon’s anesthesia has definite advantage over peribulbar anesthesia in terms of pain and anxiety experienced by the patient, as well as preoperative akinesia and surgical comfort.

Prevalence of amblyopia in school children was found to be 0.43% in a large study of school children. 35% of children had some sort of ocular symptoms. 6% of children had significant visual problems to warrant  further management.

The prevalence of amblyopia was found to be 4.9 %. Causes of amblyopia were strabismus in 25%, combined strabismus and anisometropia in 14.0%, ametropia in 4.4%, form deprivation in 38.2% and  anisometropia in 18.4 %

Fifty seven patients presenting with post-operative endophthalmitis
were given intravitreal vancomycin 1.0 mg with 0.05cc of kenacort,
intracameral vancomycin 0.45mg in .04cc along with 25 mg sub-conjunctival vancomycin in addition to topical half hourly tobramycin, dexamethasone combination with ciprofloxacin. Visual results were excellent with over half of study patients achieving 20/60 vision. These data suggest that current treatment approaches can yield excellent visual results in postoperative endophthalmitis.

Out of total of 5,906 patients examined, Primary Open Angle Glaucoma was diagnosed in 42%, Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma in 17%, while Aphakic Glaucoma affected 13% of patients. Secondary glaucoma was diagnosed in 4.5% patients, Pseudoexfoliation Syndrome was the cause of glaucoma in 5.8% patients. 3% patients were cases of Normotensive Glaucoma while
Congenital Glaucoma was found in 2.9% patients.

Of all the various routes of steroid administration, topical steroid therapy most commonly causes elevation of IOP by decreasing the outflow facility of aqueous. This case report highlights the risk of glaucoma in a child following unsupervised use of the steroids.
